        Wildlife

Camp amongst the local wildlife and keep your eyes peeled during your stay. Wallabies are often seen around the park, especially at dusk, and you may even be lucky enough to spot an echidna or wombat.

Guests often ask if there are Tasmanian devils in the area – while they are rarely seen, they can sometimes be heard in the early hours of the morning.

You may also notice small droppings on the grass throughout the park – these are from the Tasmanian pademelon, a small wallaby commonly found in the area.

Just 1.5km away, the Low Head Penguin Tours offer a memorable local experience. Around the park, you might also see yellow-tailed black cockatoos feeding on pine cones and hear the chorus of frogs after rain.

        Respecting the Environment

East Beach Tourist Park is surrounded by natural coastal bushland and native wildlife. We kindly ask all guests to:

        • Respect the natural environment
        • Avoid feeding wildlife
        • Keep the park clean and tidy.
